1. Data Storage
Moodrift currently stores all user data on your device using local storage (SQLite). We do not presently operate servers that collect or store your personal data, mood entries, or usage patterns.
If we introduce optional cloud-based features in the future (such as backup, sync, or account systems), we will update this policy accordingly and provide clear notice within the app. Any cloud features will be opt-in — you will always be able to use Moodrift with local-only storage.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, and have no access to:
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Location data or device identifiers
- IP address or browsing history
- Mood entries, journal notes, or health data
- Usage analytics or behavioural data
- Crash reports or telemetry
Moodrift contains no analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, advertising frameworks, or telemetry of any kind.
3. In-App Purchases
If you make an in-app purchase, the transaction is processed entirely by Google Play. We receive only a confirmation of purchase status through RevenueCat (our payment verification provider) to unlock Pro features. We do not receive or store your payment details, billing address, or financial information. RevenueCat's privacy policy applies to their processing of purchase verification data.
4. Data Export
If you choose to export your data, the file is generated locally on your device and shared only through the method you select (email, messaging app, cloud storage, etc). We have no access to exported files and bear no responsibility for data once it leaves the app through your chosen sharing method.
5. Third-Party Services
Moodrift uses the following third-party services:
- RevenueCat — for in-app purchase verification only
- Google Play — for app distribution and payment processing
No other third-party services, SDKs, or APIs are integrated. We do not use advertising networks, analytics platforms, social media SDKs, or cloud storage services.
6. Children's Privacy
Moodrift is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. Since all data is stored locally and we collect no data whatsoever, there is no mechanism through which children's data could reach us.
7. Your Rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)
Because all data remains on your device and we have no access to it, you exercise your data rights directly through the app:
- Access: Your data is fully accessible within the app
- Rectification: Edit any data directly in the app
- Erasure: Delete data in the app or uninstall it
- Portability: Export your data using the export feature
- Right to Know (CCPA): We don't collect your personal information
- Right to Opt-Out (CCPA): We don't sell personal information
8. Data Security
Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features (screen lock, encryption) and the app's sandboxed storage which is inaccessible to other applications. Your data is deleted when you uninstall the app.
9. International Data Transfers
Currently, because all data remains on your device, there are no international data transfers by us. If cloud features are introduced in the future, we will detail any applicable data transfer arrangements in an updated version of this policy.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be indicated by updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of Moodrift after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
